Background

Anthony Nehme is a trial attorney with extensive trial experience. He focuses his practice on personal injury, toxic torts, and DUI defense. He has gained the reputation of being a fearless trial attorney who will work tirelessly and aggressively to achieve the best possible results for his clients.

Anthony received his Juris Doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he focused his studies on criminal law, trial advocacy, and litigation. While in law school, Anthony was on the Dean’s Honor list and was an academic scholarship recipient. Anthony also received the highest grade in his class in Criminal Procedure, Torts, Torts II, Contracts, Contracts II, and Property.

In addition, Anthony received a Master of Science degree in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Florida, where he focused his graduate research on forensic toxic interactions involving Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs). Anthony frequently consults with clients and other attorneys on toxicology related cases ranging from car accidents involving alcohol or drugs, chemical exposure to toxic substances, DUIs, and to drug-drug interactions. Anthony has testified as an expert in Forensic Toxicology before the Superior Court of the State of California and the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

In 2017, Anthony was awarded the American Chemical Society – Chemistry and Law (ACS-CHAL) Forensic Lawyer-Scientist designation, which is the highest form of scientific recognition available for lawyers. Anthony also has certificates in Forensic Chromatography: Theory & Practice, Forensic Analysis of Solid Drugs, and Forensic Principles of DUID issued by Axion Labs and the American Chemical Society; and a certificate in Practical Gas Chromatography issued by Agilent Laboratories. Anthony is also a graduate of The Robert F. Borkenstein Course on Alcohol, and Highway Safety: Testing, Research and Litigation, at the University of Indiana. Anthony is also certified as an Instructor of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST’s) under the guidelines of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Prior to founding his law firm, which he has been running for 10+ years, Anthony externed with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, where he assisted in the prosecution of felony and misdemeanor cases in the City of Los Angeles. Anthony has also worked with other law firms on the defense of those accused of capital crimes, first-degree murders, bank robberies, and other violent felonies.

Background

Ivanna has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Loyola Marymount University, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2015. During her undergraduate studies, she has been on the Dean’s List while also receiving a Mary Tsassis Award for Excellence in European History, the Schnabl Award for Excellence in Archaeological Research, and the George M. & Nancy A. LeCuyer Scholarship. She also had the opportunity to write an undergraduate thesis where she analyzed historical developments in Eastern Europe.

She continued her education by attending Loyola Law School and receiving her Juris Doctorate in 2019 with a concentration in Civil Litigation and Advocacy. As a law school student, she received First Honors in Constitutional Law and participated in the Young Lawyers Program, a program in which she mentored and assisted in conducting mock trials for high school students. Moreover, during the summer of 2018, Ivanna served as a judicial extern at Los Angeles Superior Court in the Family Law Division.

Ivanna has been with Nehme Law Firm as a law clerk for approximately two years now, and recently joins the team as a trial attorney after passing the California Bar Exam. She has experience assisting in litigation for personal injury and contract law – just to name a few.

During her free time, Ivanna enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and continuing to study and read about the past.

Vahagn Vartanian

Background

Vahagn received a bachelors degree from the University of California – Irvine with a major in Business Economics and a minor in History. He has been on the Dean’s list and decided to pursue law school after obtaining a stellar score on the LSAT. He then received a Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis Law School. As a law student, he interned at a number of tort litigation firms, gaining experience in medical malpractice, car accidents, slip and falls, and other injury cases. After graduating, he moved back to the Bay Area where he focused his attention on pre-litigation settlement of personal injury cases. He gained valuable experience working with solo and small firm attorneys. He has recently moved to Los Angeles from the Bay Area.

Vahagn is a new addition to the Nehme Law Firm. He will be handling the pre-litigation settlement of personal injury cases and medical lien reductions.

In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, exercising, and learning languages.

Juanita Renteria

Medical Records Coordinator

Juanita has graduated from Los Angeles ORT College with an Associate of Applied Science, which gives her credentials for medical office management. With several years of experience, it has helped her to better understand her client’s needs in this industry. She is also fluent in Spanish, while additionally juggling the responsibilities of being a single mom and exceptional employee.

Heidy Castillo

Legal Assistant

Heidy has dedicated four years of her career at Nehme Law Firm as a legal assistant and case manager. She is originally from Guatemala and is fluent in Spanish, while having lived in America for several years now. She is a hard worker who is always dedicated to her job and children, and finds gratification in assisting her clients to the best of her ability.
